Oy Vey....

Let me tell you. When it rains it pours.  We were SUPPOSE to go to Lincoln for CJ's birthday back in FEB, but we got snowed it.  Then the following week we planned to go, and I had to go into work. So, we just said when we can go we will. FINALLY on April 1st we were able to go. It was so worth the wait.  We toured the Lincoln Capital, which is so beautiful! Then we grabbed something to eat, went to a few stores, and got lost as usual.  We were trying to find a museum someone had told me about.  CJ was telling me which roads to go down, but I kept confusing myself (which is not out of the normal) and we kinda gave up. We did find a museum....which had some veeery creepy dolls in it. Haha! Joys of an adventure.
Then last night happened.  My mom and I had talked about when a good time was to turn on the sprinklers.  She said to wait till May 1st, which I was fine with.  Then our neighbor called and said she was having her sprinklers turned on and wanted to know if they should come to our house since we use the same people. I said sure.  Sure enough, that night the news said there was going to be snow coming in, and to cover up any pipes.  I covered up those pipes as if it were going to be the coldest night on record!  Two a.m. rolls around and I get up to use the bathroom.  I hear a noise which sounds like the clicking noise in the basement as if the sprinklers are going off. I wake up CJ and he hears the same noise.  We go outside....no sprinklers on. We look at each other and both get the feeling it is the pipe I covered up.  Sure enough....we go to the side of the house and it is a fountain.  There is so much water, the house begins to look like an ice cube. CRAP!  I run inside and call the sprinkler people. CJ looked in the basement to shut off the water....and it is flooded in the back. Of course!
He gets the water turned off and the sprinkler people said they would come in the morning. We mopped up the basement and finally get to bed around 4am.  My luck, I have to sub for Kinders in the morning.  I was soooo tired and was dragging most of the day.  Come to find out, the sprinkler valve was broken. No big deal thankfully, but it sure was a pain in the butt. Lesson learned. Next year the sprinklers don't come on till May 1st!!!! HAHA!!
